Final Pitch Capital Campaign

Symphony students before the concert

In the summer of 2008, Birch Creek opened the doors of its new facilities to students and patrons after years of planning, fundraising, and construction. These campus improvements would not have been possible without the many gifts of long-time and new donors and the efforts of faculty, staff, Board, and volunteers. We sincerely thank each person who contributed to helping us achieve this goal.

The PERFECT PITCH capital campaign, mounted in 2007, reached nearly 90% of its $3M goal, leaving approximately $350,000 yet to be raised to retire the debt incurred in constructing the three new buildings.

In 2010, a new campaign, entitled FINAL PITCH, has been launched to raise the remaining $350,000.

Please consider making a gift to this capital campaign which will help Birch Creek’s students and patrons.

“I have now experienced Birch Creek’s campus both without and with the new buildings, and I can safely say they are a wonderful addition. The extra rehearsal and practice room space made for a much freer creative environment. I also had the privilege to stay in the new dormitories, and the greater comfort provided by this meant that more of my efforts could be placed upon learning and growing as a musician. Truly your contribution has helped many young musicians this season, and will continue to help them for years to come.

The Rehearsal Center & Student Dorm

Juniper Hall, a large ensemble practice and performance space with ample instrument storage capacity for increased safekeeping and accessibility.

Steelpan classroom

Rosenberg Hall, a classroom and large ensemble rehearsal space with attached patio for evening intermission performances.

Student Dormitory with sleeping space for 24 students, segregated restroom facilities, and a counselor room.

11 smaller practice rooms that provide much-needed space for small ensemble and individual practice.

The Maintenance Shop

Work and storage space for shop and garden equipment, heavy equipment, & stage risers previously stored in the barn loft.

The Faculty Dormitory

20 faculty sleeping rooms with a central work/computer/meeting area best described by faculy member Mike Lee:

“The new music facilities are incredible and add to the campus and the student experience in innumerable ways without detracting from the character of Birch Creek. Moreover, what strikes me as inexplicably generous has been the effort made to give us, the faculty, beautiful living quarters. It shows an appreciation for us that we rarely see as musical artists. I am humbled by this demonstration of generosity.”

YEAR-ROUND CAPABILITIES

Dinner Concert in Juniper Hall

With the addition of winterized facilities, year-round programming is now possible. We are slowly developing our own off-season special events and concert series. And, we are renting the facilities to many local non-profit organizations for concerts, theatrical productions, and educational programs.
