| Mission Statement: To provide intensive, performance-based instruction to promising young musicians by immersing them in a professional, mentoring environment.
When you contribute to Birch Creek Music Performance Center, Inc., you sustain a 33-year tradition of giving life to these words, reaching young musicians (typically between ages 13-19) from Wisconsin, the Midwest, and beyond. And your donation is fully tax deductible.
You may be inspired to give because music has personally graced your life and you want to pass the gift along. You may give to celebrate, honor, or memorialize the life of someone you love. You may give an annual gift or through a matching program with your employer. You may want to include a bequest in your will or a deferred gift in your estate planning.
Should you choose to designate your gift, Birch Creek has many choices for donors. To read more about our Annual and Endowment Funds, click on the links on the left.

You can make a donation online by debit / credit card or by PayPal. This service is coordinated through GuideStar and powered by Network for Good, a secure online payment service that provides charities and non-profit organizations with a transparent donor giving procedure.
Please note: Birch Creek is listed by name as BIRCH CREEK MUSIC CENTER INC., the original name on our IRS 501(c)(3) tax determination letter.

Birchfellows Annual Operating Fund
A "Birchfellow" is a donor whose tax-deductible gift supports Birch Creek’s annual operating budget. Each year, unrestricted Birchfellow donations promote student learning through faculty salaries, educational programs, program marketing, instrument rental, and student recruitment activities as well as help operate the campus.
Examples are given below of what your contribution can buy for Birch Creek students.
- $25 - purchase a music stand
- $50 - provide headphones or music acquisition for the listening library
- $100 - contribute toward music rental
- $250 - help with instrument tuning and repair
- $500 - help transport and tune the steelpans we borrow
- $750 - support annual outreach in Door County public schools
- $2,000 - name a faculty "chair" on an annual basis
A student writes:
"It is quite possible that I learned as much at Birch Creek in two weeks as I had in my previous six years as a percussionist. The great teachings and hands-on learning made me more efficient at practice as well as in my school studies.
" I do not know you, but I assume that you are a music lover and I hope that you are able to attend a Birch Creek concert. I am sure that you get satisfaction from your donation knowing it is for a great cause...and from my extreme gratitude."
- Tyler Pelt, 2007 Percussion & Steel Band Session student

Annual Scholarship Fund
In seeking to fulfill Birch Creek’s educational mission, one of our highest priorities is building and maintaining a strong scholarship program. On the average, $32,000 is awarded in scholarships to needy and worthy students annually, directly supporting 30% of the student body.
A student writes:
"Your contribution made it possible for me to be involved in a rigorous, yet a fun and wonderful experience. I am only 14 years old, but I am learning that donations such as yours are very important to the success of Birch Creek. Thank you very much for your support."
- Mei Lackey, 2007 Symphony Session bass student (pictured in concert at Birch Creek with string bass faculty member Al Steiner)
General Scholarships
Unrestricted gifts in any amount are welcome.
Named Scholarships
A gift of $2,000 names an annual scholarship as the donor chooses; e.g., "The John Smith Foundation Scholar." Birch Creek makes every effort for the donor to meet and get acquainted with the recipient of their scholarship during the student's two weeks at Birch Creek.
Restricted Scholarships
Gifts in this category are designated by the donor for a specific instrument, session, geographical region, or school, and can be for any amount.

|
Annual Corporate Giving
Corporate sponsors support Birch Creek activities in the name of their businesses. A corporation can give a cash donation to support nightly concerts or special STARZ series concerts, purchase a program book advertisement, underwrite an open rehearsal, or furnish refreshments for opening night events. Corporations may donate to Birch Creek by means of a company-sponsored foundation, through a separate corporate giving program, or both.
Cash donations are not the only type of corporate support. In-kind support such as the donation of equipment, the use of corporate facilities, printing or design services, or access to staff expertise are common forms of corporate giving as well.
Corporations may also meet with the Development Office to make suggestions about the ways in which they can contribute.

Dedication Benches
The bench project is a fundraising effort developed by Birch Creek’s volunteer group, The Associates. The personalized and handcrafted project began in 2002, adding benches to the campus for patrons to use while listening to students perform in the courtyard gazebo before concerts and during intermissions. Funds raised through this program are used to meet specific annual financial needs identified by the Board of Trustees, staff, and faculty in the Long-Range Plan, and agreed upon by the membership of the Associates.
A bench may be purchased for $500 and inscribed with your name or the name of someone you wish to honor, thank, or memorialize.
