Emily Roane
Percussion Faculty Performer | Philadelphia, PA
Emily Roane is a Philadelphia based performer and educator. She studied percussion at the University of Iowa (BM, 2016) and the University of Minnesota Duluth (MM, 2018). Emily works as a freelance percussionist and steelpan player around the North Atlantic region, and teaches at Settlement Music School. A few highlights from the past six months include performing with her rock band Pep Rally at the South by Southwest conference in Austin TX, performing Steve Reich’s Music for Mallet Instruments, Voices, & Organ for the Philadelphia Organ society’s annual festival, performing as a featured guest with the Capital Philharmonic Orchestra and the Philadelphia Chorus, and playing percussion for Walnut Street Theater’s production of Beautiful: the Carole King Musical. Emily also regularly performs with Plenty Pepper steel band and the Philadelphia Pan Stars Steel Orchestra. 2024 marks Roane’s seventh year at Birch Creek.
