Emily Roane

Percussion Faculty Performer | Philadelphia, PA

Emily Roane is a Philadelphia-based performer and educator. She studied percussion performance at the University of Iowa (BM, 2016) and the University of Minnesota Duluth (MM, 2018), and has been a member of the percussion faculty at Philadelphia’s Settlement Music School since 2022. Emily is half of the rock duo, Pep Rally, a band in which she simultaneously covers drums, bass, and vocals. She is also the drummer for Laura Cheadle & The Girls, with whom she performed at the 2025 South x Southwest conference in Austin, TX. Emily is currently the timpanist for the Philadelphia Chorus, and was the drummer for the Arden Theater’s production of “RENT.” She also performs regularly as a member of Plenty Pepper steel band and the Philadelphia Pan Stars Steel Orchestra. 2025 marks Roane’s eighth year at Birch Creek.
