Garrett Schmidt

Garrett Schmidt is a versatile trumpeter, educator, and clinician, currently Associate Professor of Jazz Studies at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE). A skilled performer, he has played with the Maria Schneider Orchestra, Ryan Truesdell’s Gil Evans Project, and artists like The Temptations, The Who, and the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra.

Schmidt has toured internationally, performed on Broadway in Cabaret, and appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. He holds degrees from Eastern Illinois University and the Eastman School of Music. His debut album, Prairie Tales, is available on major streaming platforms.
