Steel Band Director / Percussion Faculty Artist | Chicago, IL

Scott McConnell will be celebrating his tenth year working with Birch Creek during the 2024 season. McConnell is an active steelpan/percussion performer and educator in the Chicagoland area. He is the director of Steel Orchestras with the Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestra and serves as percussion faculty and rock ensemble instructor at Lewis University. He holds a Bachelors, Masters, and Performers’ Certificates in Percussion, Steelpan, and Recording Arts from Northern Illinois University.
