Ryan Hobbs

Trumpet professor Ryan Hobbs is a busy freelance musician and teacher and joined the faculty of Illinois Wesleyan University in the fall of 2020 where he teaches applied trumpet lessons, trumpet studio class, coaches various chamber groups.  Currently, Ryan is Principal Trumpet of the Heartland Festival Orchestra in Washington, IL and a founding member of Northside Brass, an award-winning Chicago-based Brass Quintet.  As a freelancer Ryan is in high demand and maintains an active performance schedule having performed in over a dozen professional organizations around the country. Ryan is passionate music educator and maintains an active private studio in the Chicago-land area with over 50 private students.  He is currently Professor of Trumpet at Illinois Wesleyan University, Elgin Community College, Neuqua Valley High School, Metea Valley High School, Geneva High School and Elgin Larkin High School.
