Christmas Concerts at Birch Creek on Saturday, December 3
EGG HARBOR, Wis. – Birch Creek Music Performance Center presents two holiday concerts in Juniper Hall on Saturday, December 3. “Christmas at Birch Creek” begins with a 2:30 PM Matinee Family Concert at which all children ages 11 and under receive free admission. Symphony and Percussion, Steel Pan & World Music session faculty musicians bring the spectacular sounds of brass and percussion to classic holiday songs and vocalist Cynthia Stiehl will lead the audience in carol sing-alongs, with accompanist Sandy Bader on piano. Each concert will also feature a guest appearance by the Sevastopol Choral Ensemble, directed by Trent Larson.
For the Evening Concert at 7:00 PM, the twinkling lights in the beautifully decorated concert hall combine with the chimes and horns and bells of favorite holiday songs such as “Joy to the World,” “Hark! The Herald Angels Sing” and the Hallelujah Chorus from Handel’s Messiah. Birch Creek is thrilled to have an all-faculty ensemble of musicians for both concerts, which includes Percussion, Steel Pan & World Music Program Director Dan Moore, Percussion faculty member Peter Naughton, Symphony faculty members Matt Lee, trumpet; Darren Castellano, tuba; Tom Stark, trombone; Kevin Wood, trumpet and Dan O’Connell, horn. The evening concert will also be highlighted with a sing-along and a performance by the Sevastopol Choral Ensemble.
These concerts are generously supported by our sponsors: Birch Creek Board of Trustees, Ben & Jane Stephen, Roger and Lynn Van Vreede, Door County Medical Center, Newport Resort and Tannenbaum Holiday Shop.
