Birch Creek Announces 2024 Summer Jazz Ambassador Concerts
EGG HARBOR, Wis. (July 1, 2024) – Birch Creek Music Performance Center is excited to unveil the much-anticipated 2024 season of the summer Jazz Ambassador concerts. This series will spotlight the exceptional Birch Creek Jazz Ambassadors, a group of talented jazz students, who will perform at various venues throughout Door County from mid-July to mid-August.
Chosen through a competitive audition process at the start of each jazz session, the Jazz Ambassadors are part of Birch Creek's community outreach initiative. These advanced students will demonstrate their remarkable jazz skills and passion through a rigorous concert schedule. This experience is invaluable in helping them develop essential skills as traveling musicians. The Jazz I Ambassadors will be under the leadership of Katie Ernst, a distinguished bassist and jazz vocalist from Naperville, IL, while the Jazz II Ambassadors will be directed by Marty Robinson, an accomplished trumpet player and faculty member from Oshkosh, WI.
Mona Christensen, the Executive Director of Birch Creek Music Performance Center, expressed her enthusiasm, stating, "The Jazz Ambassador Concert Series is an embodiment of our mission to cultivate exceptional young musicians and provide them with transformative experiences. These concerts not only offer a platform for our students to showcase their remarkable talents but also foster their growth as emerging jazz artists. The Jazz Ambassadors exemplify musical excellence and serve as role models for aspiring young musicians. It is our honor that residents and the tourist community will see and hear our students perform in more than 20 concerts this summer.”
